Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) is a major annual campaign organized by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) in April. It aims to pressure governments to fulfill their commitments to provide inclusive, high-quality education for all. The week brings together activists, teachers, and students worldwide to take action on specific education issues.
The main goal is to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The week also serves as a catalyst for governments to increase investment in education and guarantee the right to education for everyone, especially in light of growing global challenges.
The Jordan Network for Education for All has consistently participated in Global Action Week for Education every year, as it is an international campaign dedicated to education worldwide. The Global Campaign for Education began organizing Global Action Week activities in 2001 as an annual occasion during which coalitions, campaigns, and organizations working in education at the national, regional, and international levels take action to highlight one aspect of the Education for All agenda. They also unite their voices around the same theme and present coordinated demands to policymakers.
The Jordan Network for Education for All first participated in 2009 by organizing a launch conference for the week, and has continued to participate regularly every April.
